Algonquin Park Fishing ~ World Renowned Trout Fishing
Fishing season in Algonquin Park begins the last Saturday in April. We offer a 3-day Trout Fish Canoe Trip for anglers looking for a guided trip into Algonquin Park in search of Spring brook and lake trout. Spaces are limited to 8.
Algonquin Park offers some of the finest Lake Trout, Brook Trout, and Speckled Trout fishing. In fact, it is world renowned. There are over 1,500 lakes and over 1,000 kms of streams to fish. To date, there are over 50 different species of fish that call Algonquin Park home.
What makes Algonquin Park so famous for fishing, especially trout? Well, due to their remote location, back country lakes in Algonquin Park (such as those accessible from Access Point #1) have not been heavily fished. Lakes along the Highway 60 corridor do have higher fishing pressure and also have special regulations to prevent over fishing.
Although fishing is available throughout the Park’s operating season, the spring provides the best fishing opportunities. Professional anglers will attest to the best fishing being in back country Algonquin Park where you have to paddle and portage to reach that perfect fishing location
Before you cast your line – make sure your fishing license is up to date and that you review Ontario’s Recreational fishing rules and regulations. Information on Algonquin Park Fishing Regulations can be seen below. Click here for more information.
Please note: We do not sell fishing licences, so please ensure you pick one up before arriving to the Access Point.
