About Voyageur Outfitting – located at Algonquin Park access # 1

Voyageur Outfitting is located at Algonquin park access # 1.  Our canoe outfitter shares the same parking lot as the Algonquin permit office. Park, pick up your canoe, permit and paddle away.

Who are  the people hosting you? Our Algonquin Park canoe trip operation started in 1991, when Voyageur Quest delivered its first guided adventure. As a small one man operation, John Langford  operated Voyageur Quest, guiding canoe trips throughout Algonquin Park, northern Ontario and down through the Grand Canyon and American Midwest. Adding to our canoe trip operation, Voyageur Quest’s lodge based business grew with a passion and yearning to be in Algonquin year round.

Our first adventure lodge, the Algonquin Log Cabin opened in 1998 and over the years we have added the Algonquin Cottage Outpost and the Algonquin Island Retreat.   Over the past 22 years, Voyageur Quest has grown to be recognized as one of Canada’s best adventure travel companies including being selected to the Canadian Tourism Commission’s “signature experience” collection.

In October 2012, Voyageur Quest purchased Voyageur Outfitting from Don Maclean who retired after 30 years. Purchasing the Algonquin Park canoe outfitter was a perfect addition to Voyageur Quest’s guided Algonquin Park adventure operation.  Our plan  was to bring the same high quality service to the canoe outfitter and offer our customers a wider selection of adventures – both guided and self guided.

Voyageur Quest Outfitting provides canoe and kayak rentals, pre and post lakeside accommodation, full outfitting packages and convenient last stop store to pick up whatever you forgot for your self guided adventure.  Malcom Harris takes good care of the fleet and is always available for advice and to talk fishing and all things canoeing.   Ask about our shuttle service and transfers from downtown Toronto.

Hope to see you here at Algonquin Park access point #1 this summer!
